Google alerts informed me early Friday morning that an era had ended. Like one “hip” web rag, the Thief also questioned the authenticity of David Berman’s declaration of the dissolution the Silver Jews.

I truly do believe it’s over now, but I’m not so sure about this attack dog father story:

The music press, and even Wikipedia!, seems to be accepting it as true with no independent verification.

But that just smells fishy to me. Like someone’s making a joke about sharing a last name. Who knows though. It could be true that David Berman is the son of Dr. Evil. He’s spoken of his dad before in ways that could fit the description of a callous lobbyist.
